BEHIND THE WHEEL REGISTRATION

Street Smarts will provide Behind the Wheel lessons after the 30 hours of classroom instruction has been completed and the below requirements have been met.

To ensure the safety of our instructors as well as others on the road, we make absolutely no exceptions to these policies regardless of your age, experience, or if you already have a test date scheduled at the MVA.

A student must hold a valid Learner's Permit and have completed all 30 hours of classroom instruction in order to begin their BTW lessons. Each student must also acquire at least 5 hours of on-the-road or parking lot practice with a parent or mentor before they may be assigned to an instructor.

• We recommend that you do not schedule your MVA skills test prior to starting your behind the wheel lessons. Each behind the wheel lesson is evaluated by their instructor and the child's proficiency during each lesson will determine when future lessons will be scheduled.
• The instructor's schedule may also affect the ability to complete the lessons before the MVA test date.
• Therefore, completion of your behind the wheel lessons cannot be guaranteed before a scheduled MVA test date or before the 18 week completion date.

STUDENTS MUST PASS THE 6 HOURS OF BEHIND THE WHEEL LESSONS WITH A SCORE OF 80% OR ABOVE TO COMPLETE THE DRIVER'S EDUCATION PROGRAM REQUIRED BY MVA.

If you have a valid learner's permit and have completed all 30 hours of classroom instruction and have at least 5 hours or more of practice driving with a parent or coach, then please submit this form. If you have not completed the 30 hours of classroom instruction and/or the minimum 5 hours practice driving, please wait until these two requirements have been met before you request a BTW instructor be assigned to you.

Should a student meet all the above requirements at the conclusion of their classroom course, they will be automatically assigned to a behind the wheel instructor within 5 business days from the completion of their classroom course.
